Note from the NEW Publisher...
A few years ago I won a giveaway from Macaroni Kid and I got to know the person who had been publishing my area's site. My immediate thought was: Wow, is she lucky! Here was a woman who was supermom for her kids AND running a successful site right from the comfort of her home. Win, win!
It turned out our kids went to the same school and when she started a full time position and was ready to let Macaroni Kid go, I was there to grab the reigns. I am so glad I did! Not only has she been a wonderful teacher but she created a community of terrific parents, caregivers, resources and businesses that has made this transition seamless.
Over the past few weeks I've been acclimating myself to Macaroni Kid and how this whole blogging, editing and publishing thing works! I've already spoken to and met so many supportive people in our community and within the Macaroni Kid team and that is why I took this leap. I was an elementary school teacher in Arlington County for 11 years and a stay at home mom since 2016. My husband, Tommy, and 3 children, Michael (8), Lila (6) and Emma (3), mean the world to me and I am elated that I've found something that allows me to be available for them but also have a little something for myself.
I can't wait to see where Macaroni Kid takes me and I hope you find this site as invaluable as I do when I want to find family and kid friendly activities, resources and events in our area. Please feel free to reach out and if you see me, say hello!
