Hey folks! There is an exciting event for the whole family coming to Pimmit Hills on Sunday, September 29th at 9am and 10am for the 7th Annual Teddy Bear 5K/1K Run/Walk!
This year the 5K race will begin at 9 a.m. A Mascot Race and the 1K will follow at 10 a.m. Also new this year, 1K runners and walkers will start at Pimmit Hills Park, 2061 Arch St., and run Griffith Drive, the first street of the 5K course in Pimmit Hills, which will be closed to traffic. 5K runners can meet at the Children's Center, located at 7230 Idylwood Rd., Falls Church, VA US 22043. The run will be through three parks throughout the Pimmit Hills neighborhood.
5K runners also can compete for great prizes donated by area restaurants and retail stores. Prizes will go to 1st place male and female winners of age groups, from age 6 to 86, in addition to overall and fastest male and female, and fastest mom and dad in the Stroller Division! 2nd and 3rd place winners receive medals. This event is organized by the Falls Church-McLean Children's Center and proceeds contribute to the Children’s Center’s Annual Fund to keep the program quality high and tuition costs affordable for low- and moderate-income, working families.
